Stor

  • A revived idea from my college days, Stor is an online marketplace that connects students who need to store their belonging over break to students who have spare space. Students with longer leases can rent out their homes to secure the belongings of their peers. This is a great way for peers to make a passive income, find affordable and convenient storage and eliminate furniture waste on college campuses.

    The “Airbnb” of student storage.

  • Stor initially operated as a website, and the core challenge was to modernize its branding and transition it into a mobile application tailored for the college market.

The central focus of this project revolved around refining the onboarding questionnaire that users encounter during their initial sign-up process. This initiative aimed to create a seamless and convenient experience for the target demographic.

  • The rebrand involved selecting a youthful color scheme to connect with the students. The vibrant neon green, complemented by sleek black accents, was chosen to create engaging focal points with some contrast. This bold combination not only captures the energy and spirit of the target audience but also adds a touch of modern sophistication to the overall brand image.

The questionnaire serves to efficiently filter the type of storage a student is seeking. I kept the questions quick and concise to encourage the continuation of a seamless sign-up.

I integrated familiar features to ensure clear visibility. When a user toggles a button or item, it is clearly highlighted. When a user selects their college they can also see the logo so they feel very confident they are looking at the right location. Additionally, the app offers two convenient options for selecting a price range – either by tapping and typing the price or using a user-friendly slider bar.
